Do you think another PLC forum is a good idea or will it just not get the traffic and is a waste of time and money?
To change the color of your screen click on the top right corner “notifications and account” then click profile on the bottom then preferences, there you can select different colors and settings
I wanted to see what it looked like, I have a 14 day trial and if it looks ok I can upgrade it, just not sure how I will make my money back, I have not sent anyone the link yet…. I think I will send out a few and get some feedback
Are you able to change this? If unpinned and tracking were in line with the others, much less space would be wasted. They also don’t need to be that large.
I dont think a lot of people are liking where plctalk is headed and I dont like the format of MRPLC, Chris has done a lot of work to it and it looks nice but I like the single page format better
I will start posting the link and give it 6ish months to see if we can build a good base, I need smart people like you and the other members of PLCTalk that can contribute
I do have over 3 mil customers so if I can get half of them coming here that would be a very good community
Yeah wow, that’s not cheap. But I don’t really know what hosting a website costs.
I’m not too thrilled about what happened with PLCTalk. I probably shouldn’t care because it’s more about the community, but it feels different. Like an end of an era.
You have 3 million customers WOW, that’s impressive. I’ll do what I can to help get users and contribute.
I have a discord server for pylogix support, I’ll post over there whenever you decided to make this more public. There are a number of PLCTalk users there too.
The greatest value of PLCTalk is the 30 year collection of IP from numerous contributors. That will be nearly impossible to replicate. I like the idea of an alternative though, if the new owners over there start hitting us with ads or do other things that might deprecate the experience.
I could not agree more, my thought was if we get a mass exodus over there I wanted something to fall back on, I think that site was one of the best things I ever joined, I made lots of friends and customers also sent thousands of people there and dont want to loose it
No doubt its going to be an up hill battle, I will do it for 6ish months and see how it goes
The last time I was on PLCTalk I looked for some PID instruction Ron gave many years ago but didn’t see it nor any of his other posts that I have fell back on over the years. If you can get some of the “heavy hitters” from PLCTalk to contribute to this site it will definitely attract viewers.
Well…dropping to by to see what’s up. Don’t care for the nag message when I replied to this thread. MrPLC really died when Chris left, hope PLCtalk fairs better without Phil. Maybe this will be the new place to be. I don’t contribute much anymore, don’t have the software since I retired. But will help out when I can.
Thanks for joining, I am still trying to get rid of the “noise” on the site, I thought making this site incase PLCTalk goes to a bad place, we (the members) made the site so I hope the new management does not run everyone away…. I never had much to contribute there other than normal conversation but I sure learned a lot from everyone
