Let’s get this party started with a PLC/HMI question. I am using TIAP v20. I have created a very simple project just to acclimate myself to this s-ware. Both PLC and HMI have compiled ok and been downloaded to their respective h-ware. I have a simple pushbutton on the HMI that, when pressed, the HMI pops-up an alert saying “Tag HMI_Button: Value could not be written to the PLC. Set PG/PC Interface is set to S7ONLINE(STEP7). Not sure what else could be causing this.
Thank you for that information. Of all the goofy things it could have been, the date on the HMI didn’t match what was on the PLC so they wouldn’t communicate. I am sure there is a logical reason for that.
Brent,
How do you like the G2? I am working on mine now, looks like a nice little PLC… my version of TIA is to old so I will not be able to play with it until I update the software
So far it is a nice little controller, but I don’t have enough Siemens experience to really compare and contrast it with other Siemens products. Allen-Bradley will probably always be my preferred product, but this customer uses only Siemens.
