CPU 1214C G2 Won't go to run mode

Hello all. I have a Siemens PLC that I can’t get it to remain in run mode. I checked the date/time and made sure it was in synch with the PC. I am placing the Diagnostics buffer down-below. The “DB 3” it’s saying is not loaded is one of four tech objects, one for each S210 servo controls in the project. I have compared and contrasted that TO with the other 3 and they are all the same. I am not TIA Portal savvy at all. I am using TIAP v.20 for this project. Any help, ideas, additional info needed, please let me know. Thanks

What happens when you compile the program, does it show any errors?

No. Zero errors, zero warnings.

I wont be back until the AM but if you dont find the answer email the program and I can try downloading it tomorrow to see if I also get the errors

OT but - Oh, Discourse doesn’t let you attach files to posts. Unless I’m missing something on the menu above. (The Upload button only opens images)

Have to put them somewhere else and link to them. (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Proton Drive, WeTransfer) but those would mostly be temporary and probably not available in years to come if someone searching comes upon the thread for their problem in the future.

Or DM everyone that wants a copy.

Just tried to upload a file, you’re correct. Got this message.

How about the old days of PLCTalk and rename the extension, then once uploaded change it back? Im on my phone so cant give it a try

No that doesn’t work.

Just tried a small sample RSL500 program and renamed it to .jpg but got a popup that the server could not determine the size of the picture, that the image was probably corrupt, so obviously they check the image itself or generate a thumbnail immediately.

I created an empty text file, renamed to test.jpg. Got the same results. Thought it might of been a size issue. File size is 1 byte.

The sample RSS file I tried was 2K

And as a test this PNG is 4.6MB if it uploads

EDIT: They took the 4.6MB upload but reduced the pic

It looks like by default Discourse only allows uploading images, but it can be changed in the Admin settings: Understanding Uploads, Images, and Attachments - Site Management - Discourse Meta

Bloat that entry out with a couple of hundred PLC, HMI. servo, VFD , CAD, PDF and other controls extensions and nobody will have to .Zip anything :joy: :upside_down_face:

EDIT

Wow- default 4MB pics, 8MB other files and admin can change both to 30MB. Those would be some pretty impressive zipped files. The largest CLX program I have is almost 3MB not zipped.

Interestingly zipping a CAD DXF file drops it from 3.7MB to 490KB

use 7zip with the ultra compression settings it can get even better. I had some binary files that were 4mb, standard zip reduced it to I think 2mb, and 7z with ultra LZMA setting got it down to like 300-400k. This was an extreme example not all files you will get that big of a differences, but it’s usually a decent improvement in compressed size over standard zip.

So back on the PC…. looks like we have 20g with this plan so offsite or small would be the best, if I can figure out how to load more than pic’s

To host my own I would have to buy the next level up and its 500 a month but I will keep working on this one and see if we can improve it

I do like the phone app

I figured out how to add extensions, I will make another thread

I know Brent is getting help on this topic at PLCTalk…

Nothing on PLCTalk has worked thus far. I took a stab at it and placed XIC’s that prevent those FC’s from scanning and that allowed me to download it successfully and then the CPU went to run mode. This is only until I can get the servo drives online.

Just an update to this issue I was having. I changed it to “Cyclic” then set the time to 4ms and it’s now working fine.
