Baseball anyone?

I dont have a lot to talk about in the Automation World, little slow on my side but…

That was one of the best series I have ever seen, I was rooting for the Dodgers but the Blue Jays are a bad ass team, that was some great ball playing

Can’t say.

When I was getting a haircut this week she asked if I was watching it and I told her that I haven’t watched TV in 12 or 13 years.

And I have 4 in my house - just none of them are connected to an antenna or cable box. If I’m not watching a movie they’re not on.

I watched the last three games. I was pulling for the Blue Jays, a former co-worker was a big fan, he used to have a life sized poster up in our panel shop. Game seven was the best game I’ve seen in a long time.

I am just the opposite, I always have it playing in the back ground but just dont pay much attention to it unless there is a good game on, I like sports… just enjoy watching people give it their all.

The Olympics are my favorite time of the year… I even like bike racing, still amazed that a bike racer can have a resting heart rate in the 20s and 30s BPM and go up to 180 when racing.

I dont watch a lot of movies, they dont make good ones anymore… I just watched “house of dynamite” they really need a part two on that one

Yah Ken a agree, that was a great game

I’ve never been super into baseball. I watched the last few games of Mariners vs Blue Jays, then back to NHL and NFL. I can only invest a certain amount of my energy to perpetual disappointment

In 2016 when the Cubs won the world series, I happened to be in Chicago for a trade show. The night they won, we went to a bowling alley, there was one lane left and a group of us took it. I think we were the only ones actually bowling, everyone else was watching the game. The day of the parade it was too difficult to get to the convention center (still during setup). Our hotel was on the parade route, so we just went downstairs and watched the parade until traffic cleared enough to be able to get to work. It was an experience.

Thats funny

Living in NC I have to go for the Panthers and OMG, they beat Green Bay yesterday, that was a good game also but game 7 of the World Series was once in a lifetime (for a Dodger fan)

I have lived all over the good ole USA so like many teams

I also like the Hurricanes so I have good NHL team

I followed the series online. Never watched baseball much, unless it was in person. Growing up in NC, I was by default a Braves fan.

As for football, I’m a Giants fan, which has been painful for the past few years. But being a NC State Wolfpack fan, I’m use to it. Big wins, followed by head scratching losses…

I think that goes for any event

I’ve been to a Oakland As game and that was a blast, I saw Dennis Eckersley… I think that was the only game he lost all year, one of the best relief pitchers ever.

When I lived in SC we had season tickets to the Fireflies (A) the really cool thing was our tickets were up top in the VIPs and we could only go once or twice a week so I was able to give the tickets away and let other people enjoy the game that would of never had the opportunity

Another great live show is NASCAR its a blast

I don’t have any cable or other useful subscription for sports, so I only watched highlights of the series on Youtube; it seemed pretty good.

Also a Giants (NFL) fan. I even passed the disease on to my son. It’s been mostly painful for many decades (does anyone here remember Fran Tarkenton?), but the Bills-Giants Superbowl was the best ever, IMO.

How could you not? he was one of the greats… my younger days it was all about the 49’ers and Joe Montana, I lived in the bay area just after that time but would of loved to seen them play and my really young days, it was all about the Oakland Raiders and how tuff they were.

Did anyone see the Green Bay uniforms last Sunday? what a great idea and they should wear them all year, the helmets were GREAT! not sure who came up with the idea but they should get a raise, all teams should do it and they should have a “throwback weekend”

I became a Fan around the Bills/Giants Super Bowl, I was just a kid then. Great teams. I did enjoy the NE superbowl that they defeated the undefeated team. Great game.

As for live games, when I lived out in LA, my Rockwell rep took me and my wife to the Dodgers/Braves game. That was a lot of fun. I mainly go watch the the local teams (Norfolk Tides, or the college level summer leagues).

Been to a few NASCAR races back in the 90s and early 2000’s but it’s been a while since I’ve seen them. Plenty of college games, though. Still haven’t made it to an NFL game yet.

Didn’t they do that a few years back? Around one of the big anniversary’s?

I dont remember it if they did but I think its a great idea

I have not been to a NASCAR race in 15 years, I now live about an hour away from Bristol so I hope to go there, I have been to a few other tracks and definitely a good time

The zoo is one of my favorite places to visit, its always a great day

I used to live in Jonesborough, TN, and we’d go up to Bristol. You can drive on the track at Christmas for the lights. It’s madness how steep it is. I’ve been to Richmond, Dover, Charlotte, Martinsville, Las Vegas, and Rockingham.

You got me beat, I have been to a couple at Charlotte (all-star and 600) Rock and Darlington, I am only about 30 min from Wilkesboro and thought that maybe fun to see

I think Wilkesboro would be great. Always wanted to do Darlington. I made it to Las Vegas thanks to Kingsford Charcoal. Won a trip for BBQ U with Chris Lilly. Did a bunch of cooking and such, then we went to the race.

In the summer, mid- 1970s I was on a startup in Racine Wisconsin. The Brewers were in first place in the AL East and the Red Sox were in second place. The Sox were in town for a three game series. But in the Milwaukee Journal, the first article about the series was on page three because pages one and two were devoted to the opening of the Packers training camp.

lol. watch the helmet-catch play by Tyree. Just before the pass, there is a linebacker (Adelius Thomas) a few feet in front of Manning, with no blocker in between, but not getting any closer. Linebackers are Large (Thomas was 270lb), and I could not understand why he did not get to Manning. Then I saw a replay from behind Manning: there was an offensive lineman’s hand around Thomas’ neck.

I was surprised they didn’t call Eli down when he couldn’t move anywhere, then the grip finally broke and he was able to sprint
